Artistic Beginnings - september musings...

Maybe it's been the pandemic, or maybe it's just the passing of time, but after over 25 years of teaching art, creating art, being passionate about art, it was beginning to feel repetitive. I was hearing myself saying the same thing over and over again and, in my mind, I believed that everyone else had heard it over and over again too. In a recent conversation with a group, it dawned on me that for the majority of people, sitting down to paint is not an "every day thing" and they have not been privy to the 25 years of repeating dialog in my head. (I know, it sounds crazy that I could have ever thought that it was!) And in this, my beginners mind was renewed...

With that I'll leave you, I have so many wonderful things that I must now get to work on!
